Got a nice fluorescent green Horn Coral (Hydophora rigida) from Live Aquaria. I placed it on the bottom of the tank (on sand bed) for a week. My plan is to affix it to top of rockwork about 12" below 250 watt 14,000K metal halide. Should I use frag rack to try to scootch it up gradually or is it good to go? Thanks!

In my experience it has been a very hardy coral. Should be go to go.

I have mine directly under 250w radiums, about 1/2 way down in the tank(12inches) and it is very happy. Hardy coral ime, I'd say put it in it's permanent position and you will be fine.

Be careful what you put next to it. It stings hard plus it's an lps wrong forum

I have one from the same place. It is indeed an LPS Coral, but no harm done, Many make the same mistake including the people who sell them. LOL

It loves high light and a moderate to almost strong current, so you can pretty much place it anywhere in the tank. And yes, it puts out sweepers at night and will kill anything it can reach. So give it at least a couple inches of space.

one of my favorites in my tank because of how bright it glows, but i definately have a scar on the top of my hand that could be its shadow from it landing on my hand while moving stuff around. its glued down now lol. maybe i just had an allergic reaction to its sting, but it looked like a 3rd degree burn after that
