I am contemplating adding another tank to my stable, being prompted by a few fish that I really like but don't want to add to my reef tank. Angels, triggers and definitely a tusk are high on the list. I was curious though what everyone does for a clean up crew when the fish are likely to eat snails, crabs, etc. I was thinking about dibs turbo snails because they are nocturnal and maybe a sand sifting goby or an engineer goby but wondered what else everyone used or if you just keep replenishing your stock?

with my 180 I have turbo snails and a reef wrecker hermit crab( shell is about 5"long). It moves really fast for a crab. The hermit has learned to become nocturnal

In my 125 I have urchins, starfish, and brittle stars. the rest I have to do by hand as all the snails and hermits have been dealt with by my triggerfish and wrasse.

A CUC isn't a necessity at all. I keep no inverts in my FOWLR tanks. I have several Tusks, puffers, & triggers that will gladly eat any invert.
