Just wondering what you guys would use for lighting over a 12 gallon long (35"x8"x9") rimless. I want to go LED, but I'm not sure what I should use. This is my first time diving into LED and I want to make sure I am doing it correctly.

I don't have a 12 gallon long and thus have no experience lighting one, but since no one else is offering suggestions I'll give it a go.

On a tank with but 9" of depth and 8" wide I'd be mighty tempted to run a single T5 fluorescent. I don't think you'd have a problem with light penetration or intensity and tube replacement costs would be manageable.

If you feel you must go with LEDs are you interested in DIY or a turnkey solution?
