Have you taken it apart to clean it and inspect the impeller? Also, how old is the pump?

I bought the skimmer used here last spring. It's been in use in our system for a cpl months. I took it offline during a wc and one pump didn't restart.
I've taken apart cheaper pumps and inspected but never one of these. I'll take it apart and see what I find.
I believe the skimmer to be around 5 yrs old but I'll chk the pm's.

Took it apart..saw nothing wrong but it's not like I have a great "trained eye!" ;)
Put it back together and remains inop.

Woohoo! Modified a mag 3 and swapped out the Hydrofoamer with it....it's CRANKIN now!

A Mag 3 equivalent to a 9420 pump? What did you do to make it a skimmer pump? Have you tried running the tunze without the front cover on for just a second to see if it will turn on?

Removed plate on the Tunze...impeller appeared seized. I added a few drops of muriatic to see if it was a bit of calcium etc but still won't budge.
The mag 3 pushes about the same gph...added the appropriate fittings along with a venturi and now have good skimmate.
It may not certainly be AS good as the Tunze but it was only $60 from my awesome LFS!

Glad you got it working again Nice to have a great LFS. We have a semi LFS about 40 miles away he is a equipment junkie like me I can spend hours in there.
