Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.

I am just curious if the progress of my tank is sitting on the "normal" side.

My Tank
-------------

75 Gallons Display
30 Gallons Sump
No Filter Media
No Cleaning Crew (Because I am struggling with my nitrates at the moment)

My Situation
-------------------

I purchased dry rock, scrubbed it and added it to my tank but the tank quickly cycled within two weeks.

Ammonia: 0 PPM
Nitrite: 0 PPM
Nitrates: 80 PPM

For the past two weeks the nitrates have remained 80 PPM + with bi-weekly 10% water changes.

Of course with the high nitrates and using tap water to start the cycle (Switched to RO / DI now) algae is growing in my tank.

Questions
---------------

1: should I start re-scrubbing my rock?
2: are the nitrates too high for a small batch of blue legged hermit crabs?

I am just trying to keep the Algae under control.

i wouldnt add anything just yet. start doing water change using ro/di water. dont bother with the scrubbing, since clean up crew will do just that.

Patience. Do water changes with ros.. I would add some blue legs now and some snails when nitrates go down to around 40ppm. I would also do 20 gal water changes now.
