Overflow question HELP PLEASE

Hello everyone. I just bought an overflow box for my tank and I want to glue it to the glass. My concern is that I won`t be able to use silicone to glue the overflow plastic box to the glass


anyone got any ideas regarding this issue ?

I don't see why silicone wouldn't work just fine.
What is your concern specifically?

I agree. IME silicon should work fine adhering the acrylic overflow box to the glass tank.

Every overflow box like that I have seen has been attached with silicone if it is going on a glass tank.

If your goal is to make a watertight seal, I'd consider doing a setup like gl*******s uses (drilled hole with bulkhead where the box is held against the glass by the bulkhead, not by glue).

Yes, but that requires another piece of acrylic to close the box the OP has. I have a glass-holes overflow on my 40 breeder and love it. No silcone needed :) It might be easier just to buy one from them if you are worried about it.

I have something simillar for my refugium. I used silicone at first, and you are right about it somewhat being insecure. Unlike a top to bottom overflow box, this thing hangs out, and I did succeed in eventually accidently knocking it off the silicone. I then used superglue gel, the same thing I glue frags to rocks with, and that overflow is now solid.
