My sand shifting goby, I have this hole that in a huge piece of live rock, whenever a snail goes past he darts out grabs it and goes back in his hole. What he does with them is a mystery.

How do you think he would do in a 1200 gallon tank??? is he good with other fish? Hardy?

Rabbit fish (both fox face and scribbled) for their hardiness and the fact that you can hand feed these fish like they are little puppies.
Bristle Tooth tangs (for their looks, ability to go into 4-5 ft tanks and algae and detrius eating behvior).
Lawnmower Blenny for their clean up and lounging personalities.
I wish i could say royal gramma for their long life and general heardiness but they hide too much and i once had one that decided to weirdly kill all shrimp added to the tank.
Non Reef fish: Triggers and my old Marine Beta (comet), along with Lion fish.

Wrasses are my personal favorite fish.
Same here. The variety is so massive, whether its reef safe or non reef safe and so many colors to chose from.
Id rather have a wrasse over a tang anyday. And they seem to be pretty hardy fish.

Amen to that. Although tangs are pretty awesome too.

Naso tang. Lot's of personality, a real show-off and performs water acrobatics when you come up to the tank. Much like a playful dog.
Blue madarin, just for the inticate and colorful designs.
Guess that makes 2 favorites! :)

I absolutely loved Vermiculite Leopard Wrasse. Watching him dive under and "swim around" while underneath the sand as soon as the lights flipped off never grew old.

Lots of the Wrasse's are my favorite fish in a tank. They are very active present a lot of color variety and depending on the particular fish can have a personallity all their own. Many will frequently follow you around the glass and stay right in your face..
But be careful of the combinations you put in even a large tank as their home range can be quite a wide area.

If I had a big enough tank an Emperor Angelfish. I love how they change from juvenile to adult.
I have a 30 My favorite is the basic true perc clown. Not exotic but just a cool fish.

The melanurus wrasse is my fave at the moment. I have two displays with one in each. They didn't like to be near each other, thus separate tanks, but are very friendly and docile to other fish. I was hoping for a pair.
One took on male features. The other female. Oddly enough. I guess seeing each other between tanks was enough? Both have amazing colors, esp the male. Anyway, their personality is quite different. The male is crazy friendly and hangs out wherever I am. The other is more jittery. Though I partly blame a rather aggressive coral beauty housed with it. My smithii mantis shrimp in that tank maybe doesn't help either.

Trigger Fish, for me I own a blue throat but I love all species.
I also love eels, a reef safe one is the golden dwarf moray.
