I got my 7 gallon minibow up and running and now I'm looking at investing a little money in it. Right now the filter is the 10lbs live rock and 10lbs live sand and a small 100gph power filter. I have a 240 gph powerhead in for movement. The light is an 8 watt LED 14k from Innovative Marine. Im looking to do a clam, softies, possibly an anemone, and some LPS. (Im experienced with Anemones and it wont go in until much later when the tank has matured.)

What should my next addition be?

1. Build my own LED lights. 4 Cree XP-G at 7.5k on a dimmable driver and 10 Cree XT-E Royal Blue on a dimmable driver. Fans and all the good stuff.
$250 when it is all said and done on good timers.

2. Build a custom sump/fuge. Add an overflow. Send it to a 15 gallon tall tank. Move ATO to sump, Move heater to sump, add filter sock, Make a fuge with 5 inch deep sand bed, Live rock rubble chamber, Cheato chamber, Pod reproduction area, Make custom spray bars in tank for water movement. 300 GPH movement. This increases the volume of the tank from 7 gallons to approximately 17 gallons.

Both have their pros and cons. Which one do you guys recomend.
