My 9010.04A skimmer has started shutting down on thermal overload. Comes back on once it cools down. I've cleaned it and it runs for awhile and then shuts down again. What needs to be replaced?

Thanks,
Rick L.

I would first make sure the drive unit is complete and that the upper bushing 3000.610 is not stuck to the drive magnet, this will cause an overheat. Also be sure the oring and upper bushing are not inverted, the oring sits at the very bottom and the upper bushing sits on top and then the drive unit magnet sits in the upper bushing, if inverted, this can also cause an overheat. If the drive unit is OK and the motor is the issue, at a minimum you would need 9011.015 and 1205.700, the 9010.015 is no longer available and the new motor needs a new/different drive unit.

I got it going again, but I don't think it's going to hold up for long. What would be the current replacement for this skimmer? I've got a small space in my fuge to put it in, so whatever I replace it with has to be very close to the same size.

Thanks,
Rick L.

Since you were able to get it going I would be 90% sure a new 3000.600 drive unit will solve the problem. The current equivalent pump is 9011.040. This pump would go to either a 9010 or 9210 or 9015, the current equivalents would be 9011, 9211 or 9016.
