Running my lights constant

I asked the question sometime about how long i should run my lights, especially the blues. I took a look at the November TOTM and i realized that the guy always has some light on. at no time the tank is in darkness, what do you guy think about this?

Are you suggesting running your main lights 24/7?

My tank is never dark...the MH is on for about 11 to 12 hrs(I adjust for time of year)...then moonlighting.
