Freshwater dip is so stressful to fish, but if you want to do it, get the temp and ph as close as possible to do it. It will only remove parasites on the outside of a fish, plenty could be inside that you can't get to. Good Luck.

Good luck to you. The first time I saw this done in person I was floored. I was at a LFS and they had a yellow tang that had a parasite on its eye. The attendant and I noticed it as we were talking and casually looking in the tanks. The attendant asked if I wanted to see how they took care of parasites like this and of course I was curious. He took the tang out of the tank and walked it over to a tank that housed freshwater tropical fish and just dropped the tang in. I was flabbergasted but the fish seemed to be fine. The parasite dropped right off. They left him in that tank for about 20 min and then transferred him back just as quickly. The fish seemed no worse for the wear and was outwardly parasite free.

If you leave it that long the fish can't breath in fresh water so becareful never seen a freshwater dip more than five mins even that I feel is to much but read up before doing and it does look like the fish is dieing while you do a few dip little shocking to watch imagine how the fish feels
