I am about to upgrade from a 125 to a 220. I want to do a better job of aquascaping this time around (no fruit stand pile of rocks). Does anyone know of a good adhesive to hold rock formations in place. Ps the tank is acrylic so I really don't want any movement of formations. I will probably use some acrylic rods to help, but need some solid glue.

Thank you in advance for any help
Hans

That just worked pretty good for me and is aquarium safe. Easy to use. Made to aquascape. I am almost done making an arch.

I've had some fairly good success with some epoxy stick from Home Depot. I think it was called "M8000" (or something along those lines); in my local HD, it is at the end of the PVC aisle. It dries a fairly light grey, though.

Pond foam. I made this rock from about twenty small pieces of rock and some pond foam. You can barely see a yardstick at the bottom of the pic. Overall size is about 30"L x 14"W x 16"H.

How did you get the rock to hold shape while the foam set?

Anti-gravity devices were:
Other rocks - just don't foam'em
2x4's - again, just don't foam'em
I think I even used a 2 gal bucket at one point - didn't foam it :D
You would have to do the same thing using the putty/epoxy noted above.
I opted to not use acrylics rods, pvc, zip ties, etc....just pond foam.

Click the link for details - about $8 per. The included straw comes in real handy for foaming in the nooks and crannies you could never get to with putty/epoxy.
