Looking for a 75 gallon tank that is 4 foot wide, my buddies sump mysteriously cracked last night. Not sure what happened, but it held water fine for weeks and then this happened.

If anyone has one please let myself or Nuagedesign (Bruce) know.

Thanks again,

Mike

Thanks mike just finished cleaning up the mess.

I just began the cycling of the tank days ago and this happens. Hopefully someone out there has a tank. I hope to redo the sump this weekend and get back on track. Right now the tank is just circulating on the vortechs to try and keep some of the cycle going. Let me know what you have and what you want for it. Ill keep my eyes on the thread here. Or call me at 203-906-0021. Thanks for the help! What a way to start.

I bet it was the acrylic baffles that cracked the tank. I was told by several people that when using acrylic for baffles in a glass tank you need to leave a little early it of a gap because the acrylic will swell in the water.

Hmmm thats interesting Bob...never thought of that...how does that work with acrylic tanks then?

Also we used lexan...not sure if thats a type of acrylic...

I think with acrylic on acrylic they can expand together. But I was told never make acrylic baffles in a glass tank a snug fit because it will eventually blow out the tank. Madtanks was the person who told me that info and he is a big acrylic guy.

The acrylic does expand and contract with temp and water swell glass does the same thing just not as much if the baffles were a tight fit I am with bob on this one and would say it was the pressure from the acylic expanding
