I worked on a few things that'll help my sump. I found a gro-bulb from lowes that's 5k so we'll see if that'll grow cheato and I also made a stand for my skimmer/pump since before it was too low and was sitting with a lean. It may not have been an issue because it was still pulling out junk but it bothered me since it was extremely crooked.

Here's the pics:

My only issue is that since I made the stand about 3in taller, my skimmer wouldn't pull debris like it normal would. I'm reading up on it now so hopefully i'll figure something out. Tomorrow i'll be cutting into the canopy so I can make an access panel for feeding/cleaning/work area.

ps- I bought some parts for my ro/di that'll be here on wednesday and a reef keeper lite/ato that'll be here tuesday. More work to be done. :D

I got a little more done today (not in the sump area)

I cut into the canopy to make a doorway so I could work/move stuff in the tank. I'm not happy with the way it looks and I think it's because of the hinges. Does anyone have a canopy that opens on their tank? I'm pretty confused as to how it's supposed to look. I flipped my lights around so now the switches are in the front and I can access them pretty easily.

Next up on the list is finding some putty/glue that'll go into my overflow that'll stop water from flowing into it on the side that's broken. I bought the tank and on the overflow cover, where the return line goes, it's broken a little deeper than it's needed. This excess area is letting water in that's falling into pipes which is making the overflow extremely loud. I have a durso setup and that's helped a lot but I need the putty. What putty/glue would I be looking for? I need one that safe for an aquarium.

Instead of having glass/acrylic tops i've been looking into either egg crate or screen tops. Egg crate is easy but i've read they block/change light just as bad as glass. I'll be going to lowes tomorrow to get the screen kit and hopefully get that all put together.

I don't really have anymore projects planned for the tank so if anyone can think of something else, I'd probably give it a try.
