I'm not to sure if my Candy Cane is healthy or not. All my parameters have been good the entire time its been in my tank (1 month). Parameters are as follows:
Nitrates-0
Ph-8
Nitrite-0
Ammonia-0
Calcium-420
Kh-8
Phosphate-0
Salinity-1.026
Temp-78

It is in a 29g tank with 2 powerheads moving water. I have a Kessil 350w light (i know its alot but i'm going to use it for my 65g once its up and running), with that said I have the Kessil turned way down. All my other corals seem to be doing fine and maybe the candy cane is as well but it just doesn't look like it did in the LFS. Anyways any opions or advice would be appresciated.
Thanks,
Ash

To help you post images, from Photobucket, just copy and paste the "IMG" link of the pic (to the right in Photobucket) in your post. Here is your pic -

It could just be acclimating. I have a few that decided to look really crappy after doing so well after a year. And no other coral is having issues.

It looks good to me. My candy canes shrivel up and look very dead and boney looking at night then fluff out when the lights have been on for about an hour, but not everyday. Some days they stay small and constricted. I think it's ok from what I can tell from your photo. How often are you feeding? Have you target fed it yet?

Thanks for the picture posting advice and that is good peice of mind thanks Kate. I am spot feeding quite often as I have a suncoral in my tank as well. Whenever I am feeding it I always give the candy cane a squirt as well. Does the candy cane have feelers or anything that come out when you feed it? The reason I ask if whenever I feed it it doesnt seem to react to it at all.

There are when the mouths are open. I've seen mine swallow huge chunks of mysis. Where do you have it in the current? You said you have suns? Maybe your lights aren't bright enough for the cane?

I'd say it is in moderate flow and I have a kessil a350w led light so I am thinking it should be enough light. I do have it turned way down at the moment so I suppose I could always try turning them up a bit. The sun coral is hiding in a cave so it doesn't see any light.

Mine opens up and exposes it's "feeding tentacles" every night, only after the lights go out. I've tried to target feed mine with mysis, but they didn't grab the shrimp... I guess it's getting it's fill of zoo/phyto plankton in the water column.

I have a load of candy canes and trumpets. They look like that well after my lights are off. The idea is to give them medium indirect flow. They have small tentacles about 4-5 cm in length. Every now and then, i would blast them w/ some oyster feast or cyclopeeze. Here is the idea with my neon greens, the tentacles barely visible. This has doubled in size in about a yr:
