I'm Jeff and I'm new to the CT area, moved up from VA Beach due to work. I was wondering if you all could point me to some great LFS close to the Groton/Mystic area?
I moved up my 110 from VA Beach and alot of my SPS colonies suffered from the move and would like to see if i could find some of the corals I lost.
Just a bit about my tank in case your wondering, as said its a 110 mixed reef but SPS dominate and i'm running a hamilton fixture with 2 400w mh and 4 T5s. I have 2 MP 40s for circulation and I have my KH and CA on dosing pumps. I use an old euro reef skimmer to keep the water clean and I also use a gravity fed ATO to keep the water topped off. The Reefkeeper keeps everything running and allows me to keep an eye on things when I'm away from home. To keep the tank cool from the 400s I use a JBJ 1/4HP Arctica Chiller.
Well thanks for any info you all can provide in advance, have a great day!

Welcome! I agree with Joe. Puppy center will be your best bet for sps. But colchester petshop is a little store that has some nice stuff after a shipment. If you are on Facebook they post everytime they have anew shipment.

Hey Jeff, welcome to ctars. Krystal Clear Aquatics in Auburn, MA has a bunch of sps frags and colonies for sale at pretty good prices also plus literally the biggest selection of fish out of any fish store around. I will agree with the above people that Puppy Center is a great store to go to for corals also.

Welcome to the club and area, I'm in Groton area myself and would advise DO NOT goto Fin and Feather. They are a shell of the store they used to be and as an off topic bone of contention, they sell puppy mill dogs which just ****es me off in general. There is an amazing shop in Warwick RI, about 40mins from Groton called "Something Fishy" amazingly clean and pristine store as well as amazing stocks of fish and corals. I would recommended then for at least a look, I have been nothing but impressed with them. Good luck!

Hey thanks all for the spots to check, already googled them all and looks like alot of weekend road trips in the future.
Diablo; yep already checked out fin and feather and they managed to tick me off in the 5minutes i was in there, not going back there for sure.
So I'm pretty big on fragging my SPS, so once everything smooths out in the tank (got crazy phosphates right now) and my sps start taking off again do ya'll do trades or sales around here. I've had days where i was just to lazy to plug them up (or out of room)and would give some to friends in my neighborhood just so they had a home to go to. Plus its always nice to have those places you can go back to if something tragic happens to your tank (my best kind of insurance).
If anyone nearby deceides to take a trip to some of the out of area stores and would like company let me know i'm usually game for trips, and I'll always be happy to take some along with me when i head out.
I'll get some pics up here in the next day or two for y'all to check out, would love to see some of your tanks too!!
Thanks again for the info.
