Live rock / dead rock reuse question

I'm not too sure about this but here it goes. A guy has some live rock from his marine aquarium converted it in is fresh water. I was wondering about buying it to add to my sw setup? Not sure if its a good idea or not?? I have a cycling area

Converted?! Organisms living in the rock will die in freshwater, it is dead rock if he has put it in freshwater, you can still use the rock but it will take time to convert that rock back to live (if seeded with new LR)

yeah if you want the rock get it. stick in curing container unlit and cure it for a month or three.

If the tank was ever treated with copper the rock is worthless.

also it will most likely leach unwanted nutrients causing crazy algae issues!
