gmate

I have a Scopas and a Kole in my 72 bowfront. Both are relatively small, 3-4 inches I'd say. I introduced the two of them at the exact same time. They usually swim together, eat and graze together, and don't seem to give each other any hard times at all. I know the Zebrasoma may become more territorial as he gets bigger but to my knowledge the Ctenochaetus (Kole) is very passive / non-aggressive in general. Other inhabitants include a two inch yellow watchmen goby, two inch tail spot blenny, and a very small one inch red headed sleeper goby. So basically, the tangs are the only real fish / contenders in this tank.
When they graze (as they always go side by side together) on the rock, the kole will occasionally hover in place and extend his side fins all the way. The scopas then 'nibbles' on his fins for a few seconds, then they resume grazing. Almost like you'd expect a cleaner shrimp to do maintenance on the Kole tang!
Sometimes they rustle their fins against each other, then go back to grazing. Never do they fight or chase each other around the tank. It seems almost like 'playfulness' but I don't know. It might be that the Scopas is asserting dominance over the other? The Kole totally allows it. Both tangs are on a steady diet of frozen PE Mysis and NLS pellets/algae pellets. I'm going to have to buy some nori and a clip online, I couldn't find anything decent locally.
I have had a yellow tang before but it was the only tang at the time, and never exhibited this behavior with my clowns.
Any idea?
