Roger

I am looking to switch from vortech to tunze. I'm currently running 2 MP40's at 95% reefcrest and at full ramp up the wife doesn't like the "noise".

I was wondering what you recommend. The 6105's or something else. It wil be 80% SPS with 20% LPS.

I have minimal rock work that is 6" in from all the sides with a lot of open spaces. Aside from using a 6045, I don't have much experience with your products.

I also have 3/4" glass, how much more are magnets to support this.

Last question, would a 7096 controller be better then going with an APEX?

Here is a pic of the rock work. Currently I have the 2 MP40's across from each other. The other vortech was put on after this pic was taken.

I would go with the 6105's, while the 6095 would have a more analogous flow pattern, the 6105 will be perceived as stronger due to more projection of the flow, the 6105 is better suited to a tank of that length and that glass thickness. You would simply add the 6205.501 magnet extension, a stronger outside magnet that ups the hold to 3/4"

roger,

I just picked up two 6105's and I am using the wide flow housing with the 24 volt jumper. I am running them on a 7095 controller.

The tank will be 70% SPS so i am wondering what the best setting a placement of the pumps will be.

Should I do the pulse or interval modes? and with the wide flow housing, what is the best placement and direction for these pumps. My LPS (frogspawn) is kinda ****ed at the moment.

thanks

Euphyllias tend to not appreciate high/direct flow. If possible a more sheltered location should be provided and it may be best to switch to 18V at least to start so you have more flexibility in the 30-100% adjustment.

In general I would use Interval 2, this will idle one pump at 30% while the other pulses and I would set a roughly 6 hour interval. One pump in each back corner aimed to hit the front about 4-5 ft away, almost to the diagonal corner.
