Anyone know what the specific gravity is for water in the bay area?? just caught a bunch of crabs from there and i'm trying to keep them alive for a while... think I'm going to try and mix myself up some salt water in a tub....

Just use the refractometer on the water that the grabs came with

NSW is typically .026 so anything close should be fine. Just keep in mind that what's probably going to kill them is the high temp, not the SG. Bay water is typically in the 50s. Hook up a chiller if you've got one.

I think you mean 1.026.

LOL... Yes, typically I don't add the 1 since I assume people know it's 1.0XX.

And the oxygen can be as problematic as the temp. Add a big old airstone.
