Super Reef Octopus 1000 Setup Issue.

Has anyone had any issues setting up a Super Reef Octopus 1000INT. Just setup on a bought from another member and it just keeps overflowing with the water ex house pipe opened all the way and unobstructed. The manual doesn't state anything about water level height.

It should be in 5 3/4" - 6" of water. Run it for a few days wide open. Then set it at the bottom of the collection cup and adjust slowly from there. My final settings have it 1" - 1.5" from the top of the neck before it overflows into the collection cup.

Did you have another skimmer before this one? Did you run this in vinegar and water before use? You don't know what may be on the skimmer.

Check the air intake to the pump. This air opening will clog with salt or calcify easily every few months ....clean it by sitting it in vinegar overnite.
