VorTech MP60 and a fine sand bed

I just put a light sand bed in my 235 gallon bare-bottom tank, I usually run the MP 60 on full blast. But now with the sand bed, it blows it everywhere. Any suggestions?
I wish this overpriced power-head was able to adjust the direction...

This is one of the 'reason' people going BB tank - no sand storms. With SPS tanks they do want crazy full blast flow and MP60 can deliver. You can try to install it higher and speed it down a bit. Using coarse sand or even crash corals can help. Some prefer to use star board. You have to find what will work for you.
