i am not a big fan of canister filters. they usually end up harboring nitrates which in turn causes algae issues.

Well for a month I have had 0 nitrates and many have told me the same as yourself did if it does start i have an eshopps rs200 sump and am going to buy a Reef Octopus diablo xs 160 and a Sicce synchra silent 3.0 return pump one of the issues I had with the sump was noisy compared to the FX5 maybe the diablo and pump will quiet it down and thanks
