Hi guys,

Quick question, with the holidays coming up, I'm looking to upgrade my flow.

I'm currently running 2 Tunze 6025's on my 55 gallon (48") long. Will 1 MP40 be enough flow for my tank?

Thanks in advance.
Roger

Yes. I would use one of the 6025s still to customize the flow though.

It should be awesome in a 55. I run two mp10's in my 65 gallon and I have good flow. Two mp10's is still less flow than one mp40 though, so you will be more than good.

Sweet, do you guys think it'll be much louder than the 2 tunzes?

They r loud but two mp10 is a little less but better flow then one mp40 i had three mp 40 on a 90 sps was disappointed two mp 10 on my red sea 65 was awesome i love the mp10 great little pump i would keep a tunze too

Hmm.. I may consider going 2 MP10's vs 1 MP40.

I know it's been asked time and time again, but it seems as though people like 2 MP10's better than 1 MP40?

On a tank that small I'd do two 10s. That way you get a great synchronous mix.

On a 55, you can't go wrong either way really. Keep in mind though that when you upgrade tanks, the MP10s may not work. The mp40 will work for almost every tank out there.

There are a lot of people running two mp10 on 75-90 gallon tanks with great success.

I have two MP40s in my 40B and the flow is nice :) but I agree two tens will be better.

Wow...I would never pay for 2 mp40's in such a small tank as a 40-55g.
You can tell a poor man by their circulation pumps...lol

^^ what ya sayin!!!! I have a cheep $20 dual head EBay junk pump on my tank and it's the most silent pump I have ever had!! It moves a ton of water!! I think lighting is the tell all!! Wait.. I also have a cheep DIY LED settup too... Hmmmm... Got it!!! I have an aircraft grade fiberglass W/ foam core composite canopy!!! About $500 in just materials!! But it's all scraps from work. Damn I'm cheep!!

deff go with the 10s I promise you will be so happy i have two mp10 on my 75gal and i love them. i had the money for two 40s but i jsut dont like them after having 3 on my 90 and my bud having two on his 110 i will never buy them again. and if you go to a 125gal the 10s will transfer. the other thing is the vortechs hold their value so well that you can just resale them if you want to updrade to a bigger pump now the mp60 im impressed JIMO some will say different
