Cycle Tank with Fresh Water Filter

Will I be able to use a bacteria filled fresh water filter to help cycle a Salt Water tank? Can I just put the fresh water Filter bag in the tank with everything running????

Sorry but no. Fresh Water Bacteria and SW Bacteria are not interchangeable.

You'll want to get rock/sand from an existing system (it doesn't take much at all) to kick your cycle off.
