About 10 of my fish have this weird fluffy looking thing on their mouth and sides, some of my fishes scales are peeling off in a way and I don't know what it is!!! I literally happened over night because I was watching them with my girlfriend last night and we didn't see anything. Please help!!! By the way I started treating with clout today but I'm unsure if that will help. :(

Also, what would you use to treat it? Would clout work??

Thanks in advance!!!

You could try an antibiotic like tetracycline or another. You should be able to find something at a fish store. I don't have my old freshwater fish book handy anywhere. What I found online was antibiotics, naladixic acid, or salt baths. I actually never had it happen in my old freshwater tanks, so never had to treat for it.

And you're welcome!

Your fish have a fast acting bacteria that can kill with in 72 hours. Its commonly called columnaris, you need to act fast if you want to save any of your fish. If your fish dont live, your better off cleaning out your tank and restarting. columnaris is a nasty nasty fish illness in fresh water.
