Hammer tissue "blowing away"

I have a branching hammer, as I was blasting the rocks with the baster I 'hit' the hammer with the blast full on and tissue came off, at 1st I thought this odd and did it again, not a blast but a good flow and less tissue came flying off. The hammer appears OK otherwise, extended and the same color it has been as long as I can remember. Did I just blast it to hard or is it a sign of an issue? There are 3 others from the same colony which split itself about a year ago and they all seem fine (I diddnt try blasting them)

I've blasted tissue off of a Purple Haze Montipora with a turkey baster once, That was the only tissue that came off though.It healed in a week.I know SPS and LPS are different tissue wise, but I've done what your speaking of.
