My tank has been up and running for about 6 months. For the first couple of months I had a couple of small areas of cyano bacteria in my tank and a whole bunch in my fuge. Although the cyano has completely disappered in my main tank since Sept, it continues to flourish in my fuge. I've cleaned it out & added a small power head to create some more movement but it still persists.
My phosphates are at .08 PPM as measured by a Hanna colorimeter & my nitrates are ~ 1 PPM. I have a small clump of chelto in the fuge but it doesn't grow due to the lack of phosphate and nitrate. The fuge is on an opposite light cycle to the tank.
My question is: should I not worry about it and just leave things the way they are or attempt to erraticate the stuff in my fuge?
