i saw this code and curious what the (cntrl:a3) mean?? im trying to set up my apex for auto top off and the works on other things and having trouble with a few things!

It is a virtual outlet. VOs are discussed in the Comprehensive Reference Manual

Cntl:A3 means Control Address A3

Control Addresses are for legacy X10 devices and DC4, DC8, etc. They need to be manually added to your configuration on the Setup/Modules page. Assuming you don't have an X10 module or DC8 (not EB8, that is different) connected to your Apex, outlets added at these addresses have nothing physically connected to the Apex to respond to commands so we call them Virtual Outlets.
