Im finally ready to change over from my M/H to Radions. I have a 120 and was thinking to get 2 fixtures. Since the price dropped is a no brainer. My Q is does the 2nd gen makes a big difference with the TIR lenses? or just go with 1st gen? My tank has about 50-60% SPS the rest softies.

Images comparing PAR between the two models, plus a G1 with TIR lenses installed can be found here:

Ultimately both are good options, but the G2 is only marginally more expensive and still puts out more light than a G1 with TIR lenses installed. For your tank you'll want to look at two G2's most likely.

At what height is it optimal for the Radions to be at? As I was searching the net most people say at 10" above water level...does this sound right?

For the G2 we are recommending 10" to achieve an approximate 30x30" spread.

Two Radions over a 120 will work very well. Here are my PAR numbers.
