I have a 240 fish only tank but am looking to create flow. I have the look of a bunch of power heads in a tank. So what's the best option is it the Vortech MP 40. Or is there another option for cheaper?

MP60 would work better than an MP40. 3-4 Tunze 6095s may work as well.

I own Tunze and Vortec and hands down the Tunze are better. JMO, but they can be directional, can be on controller, and overall have better...much, much, much better distance how far the flow reaches than a Vortec. My Vortec reaches 4 feet at best. Vortec's have great controller options...hands down, but for flow, they can't shake a steak at a stream pump. Vortecs have no options for directional and placement. They just sit there.
Oh, and something I did not know until I purchased the Tunze 6095 was that they have a knob on the power supply to adjust the flow up or down just like a vortec if you decide not to use a controller not to mention you can change the overall voltage and max speed of the pump with the different fuses they give you. Plus I think 2 year warrenty.

So the MP40, is not big enough for my tank? It's says up to a 300 gallon tank!

No way big enough for a 240....I have a 125 and it only covers a 1/3 of the tank. Thats why I ended up buying another pump with a Tunze.
