hi all new to forum.. am setting up a DT for soft corals and fish tank 171 g with sump 46g . 6x2x2
has any one had any experience with the chineese led s 130 w blue and white ?? they are very cheep compared with ecotech radion about one quater of the price..

what skimmer and size would one run for this setup any good brands or models that people already use was looking at a deltec tc1655 but is quite pricey ??
i have decided on 2x tunze powerheads with controller and a eheim 5000 return pump but that is about all.
would like to keep noise to minimum with equipment
any advice on equipment and set up would be appreciated..
thanks chris

I wouldn't compare the Chinese LED no name side by side with Radion specially if you are going to have corals. Radion is much better LED light than the Chinese LED for corals. Some people say you can use the cheap chinese led for corals, but I wouldn't put my trust into it. Stay with major brand names.

Razor, Hyperion, and Mitras are the best pre made fixtures IMO
If you can make a DIY fixture

Hi Chris,

Welcome to RC! Quite a few folks are running the Chinese 120W lights successfully and having excellent growth even with SPS. Use the search box to search this site for more information on folks that are using them before you make the plunge.

I use a Super Reef Octopus 2000 on my 75G, and they are a great skimmer that won't kill the pocket book.

Good luck,
Will
