I would like to control an 18 amp x 120V pump - ideally with my apex - to cycle on and off at certain times. Possible?

Replace that monster with (4) 5A pumps! :D I gotta ask - what kind of pump is that and what are you using it for?

See this thread: a somewhat different situation, but the solution is applicable to you. Bottom line... you're going to need to have the Apex control a (big) relay which in turn switches power on/off to the pumps.

Here's a ready-made one I think would work: http://www.platt.com/platt-electric-supply/Enclosed-Relays-Power-Control-Relay/Functional-Devices/RIB01P30/Product.aspx?zpid=787407

Russ: If I ordered this, it'd be plug and play? This would plug into a 120V 30amp circuit and the pump would plug into it? Or would the pump need to be wired into it. How is the apex connected? TIA

I suspect it comes with cut wires. If that's the case, you'd have to connect a 120VAC plug to the control inputs which would allow you to connect it to your EnergyBar, and wire the main power in and out leads to the power source and the pump.

A handy electrician friend would be good to enlist in making it happen properly and safely whichever way you go.

Yep. My electrician has become my best friend since I went all-in in the hobby. I just want to be able to order the correct part for him to install. Thanks for the help (as always). One last question, there are 3 types of the switch that you linked:
• Order Both Poles Normally Closed by adding “-NC” to
end of model number
• Order Pole 1 Normally Open and Pole 2 Normally
Closed by adding “-NONC” to end of model number
• Order with Momentary Override Switch by adding
“-MNO” to end of model number (RIB01P30-S)
I only need to run the pump for 10 minutes 5 times daily. Any idea which if the 3 I should order? I am thinking the NC with both Poles normally closed?
Thanks again! Steve

I think you would want the standard model (normally open)
