Part of the new stand I am constructing will have a section for all electrical and space below for an ATO resevoir. I have found a option that will fit perfectly in the space and maximize my water volume.

Is there any concern using these Brute Tote storage containers as resevoirs? I use Brute trash cans for mixing water, but I am concerned with using these as a water storage container, as the water will be in them for a much longer period.

Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks

I used something similar for many years as my reservoir tank for RO - I never thought it was much of an issue.

I don't believe there are any leaching factors involved from the plastic, but I am not 100% sure about that. That would be my only concern.

Make a trip to Ikea, they have very nice, thick and clear totes in a varie of shapes. The generic ones are thin and distort too easily. My sump is a 40 gallon tub from Ikea, it has worked for years with no distortion.

My RO-mix is a 44G Brute garbage can I got from Lowes. Very thick/durable that I can fill right to the top, stick a pump and heater in the bottom and let it mix. Works great,

No the brute ones are completely safe. They even use them as gatorade mixing containers at camps for kids.
