Just get a flat screwdriver under it and pop it off.

I wouldn't recommend just popping it off, you could do damage to other components. They make a device called a De-soldering Vacuum. The really simple and fairly inexpensive ones (like 15-20 bucks), use a little rubber bulb for the vacuum.

Try this link on youtube. It shows how to do the who process.

Be really careful, you probably spend a small fortune on parts so it pays to use the right tool, and carefully.

A de-soldering vacuum probably won't do much as the led was epoxied to the heatsink and not soldered to it. As the led is already toast, what damage to other components were you referencing? The heatsink?

I was saying more as general electronics practice. I don't know how his specific module was assembled.

This is the prime example why I used screws instead of glue for my DIY fixture. If an LED goes out, unsolder the wires, unscrew, and bam, the LED can be replaced. I looked at using glue but was concerned with the idea if one of the LEDs burnt out.
