I had some prices of live rock in my QT. When I obtained a larger QT I left the live rock in the old tank. It was covered with water, but no water movement at all. My question now is what can I do with the rock now? Can I just put it back in my DT or in my QT?
Thanks for all help!

if there was no movement and temp was not kept in 76-84f range then its probably dead rock. if its just a few small pieces u can rinse them in ro water to get as much die-off of it and then add it to dt slowly 1 piece at a time over weeks.
NOTE: was this rock ever exposed to meds that contain copper? if so then no this cannot goto reef tank.

Some concerns: How long has it been without any water movement? How long since a fish was last present in that QT? Did that last fish have any diseases, and if so, did you treat in that QT? Exactly how did you treat?

The rock has been like that for about a week. It was housing a pair of clowns and no medications were ever introduced into the tank.

A week is a very short period of time.

I think it would be fine for a week. I think most people were under the impression you were talking about months.
