I spent the better part of my last deployment reading everything I could find on these little guys. After I got home I put together a 40 breeder to house a peacock. I purchased man made live rock and waited for my tank to cycle. While I was waiting all the lfs had beautiful peacocks in stock. However, when all the numbers were right on in the aquarium all the stores were sold out. I waited 3 months to no avail. I finally ran into the little guy I have now and brought him home after trying to ID him. Its been 4 months now and 2 molts. I still haven't been able to come up with a 100% ID. There is so much knowledge here and I owe everyone for the maintained health and success of my little guy. Thank you all.

Hmm...depends a little on size and origin (Atlantic or Pacific), but I'd say N. Wennerae as a first guess.

I don't know. The colors don't look quite right for a N wennerae but it does have a white meral spot clearly visible.

Female G. Ternatensis?

G.chiragra my guess (most because we don't get Neogonodactyls downunder) and it's the first all white meral spot species that comes to mind.

It's not G.ternatensis (yellow meral spot).

If it's over 80mm I would say G.chiragra.
