Loud Diablo XS 160 Skimmer

I have been running Diablo XS 160 for about 5 weeks now. My wife has had it with the loud stucking noise. I threw a towel on it and made it less noisy. I also threw some foam under it for the virbation. Is there a better way to turn the noise down?

Plug one of the two air intake holes

^+1 that's exactly what I did and it helped a ton. I just used a small piece of electrical tape.
