Introduced a favia coral into my 90 gallon tank recently (about 2 weeks ago), going from low light in the store to high light in this tank (6 T5 lights). An odd growth has begun to form on the coral, and it seems to be moving around quite a bit (see video HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEwQNMxXP5o&feature=youtu.be)).

Water parameters:
alk: ~10 dkh
calcium: 450 ppm
salinity: 1.026
pH: 8.3
Magnesium: 1500ppm

Does anyone know what this growth is? Should I be concerned? I am new to growing corals so any information/advice is greatly appreciated!

I have the exact same growth going on with my baby's breath favia. It has been this way for at least 2-3 months with no apparent health concerns. I have had this favia for at least a year. I originally thought it was getting ready to do battle with another nearby favia but I have since separated them and the "growth" has persisted. The only thing I can think of is that the favia is trying to spread out. My growth is on the side of the coral where it has encrusted as far as it can go (no more rock).

Looks to me like it's just puffy/full of water on that side.
