Taping up the tank for a few days, added new carbon, and added some extra water flow. Not worried about the corals and fish being dark for 48-72 hours, but will a clam be fine? Can't seem to find any info on them.

What kind of dinoflagellate?

My Crocea survived a 3 day lights out a few weeks ago. It didn't work for my Dino's, but the Peroxide method did. I highly reccomend it.....try it before you go to more extreme methods...if you haven't already. I realize that it doesn't work for everyone, as there are different strands of Dino's, but has a low risk/high reward strategy! Good Luck!

My advice is whatever you do...do it aggressive the first time and you will minimize the chance of something being effected. If you go half steam on multiple methods you will only end up killing things in the long run.

Hydrogen peroxide worked for me too along with cutting back on lights a bit.

Is it just me, or does it seem like more and more of us are dealing with these things lately?

I finally beat them! Raising the PH to 8.5 for 2 weeks killed them off.
