MP40 on Rubbermaid Stock Tank

Has anyone used a MP40 on a stock tank? I need to transfer everything to a stock tank temporarily due to a move and wondering if I'll be able to use one my mp40s or need to purchase some other suction-based power heads. If you were able to use it, what thickness did you set the base to?

If you do decide to use it on the stock tank, I would use calipers to measure the thickness and adjust the pin spacer accordingly, as too much magnetic force can damage the pump.
