As my title states, a new clam just died in my tank. Was only in the tank for approx 10-11 hours. It was pretty smelly when I put it in, but I thought it was just natural (probably DOA from the shop)...Now i'm worried, should I do a water change? What should I test for? I have all the kits, but my "reef guy" isn't picking up his phone and I'm a little frantic. Please help ASAP! :headwalls:

EDIT: Remembering the old adage "the solution to pollution is dilution", I just added all the RO/buffer I had at the moment (of course its only 25 gallons compared to my usual 100 on hand)....So I'm currently making more....I think my tank is big enough to deal with the death of this clam but I'm just trying to be absolutely certain. Would this cause an ammonia spike?

In a tank that large you may not see any spike in ammonia, especially if you got it out fairly quickly. It's never a bad idea to do a water change and run some carbon though.
