I have a channel in behind my rock work in my new reef tank and I am wondering if I should place a pump in the back of my tank to push water through that channel to keep it stirred up?

Thanks!

Having water movement behind the rocks is a good idea, IMO, especially if you are going to have a bare bottom tank. The one thing to keep in mind is ease of servicing - you don't want to put a pump in an area where you will have to move the rock work to get it out when it needs to be cleaned/serviced (and it will need to be cleaned/serviced).

Thanks and good thought! Access should not be a problem.
