Unfortunately they are too small and my camera can't focus on them to post a picture.

I am see little orange tube all over my rocks. They are about 1/4 of an inch long and about 1/32 of an inch in diameter. They all have a 4 to 6 inch string extending from them. It is very fine almost like a spider web.

Any idea what the are? Do I need to worry about them?

They're most likely fan worms. Harmless.

sound like vermies...

as for pest or not? all depends if you like them or not lol Some people view them as pests because of their webs. others (like me) will go out and purposely look for a rock with them!!

they are harmless filter feeders though.. so they are technically "good"

That's them. Now that I know they are harmless, I won't worry about them. The strands don't bother me as long as they aren't bothering my corals or anemones.

Thank You

I'm battling these freakin' things right now. They multiply like cockroaches.

They were bothering my Zoas and one actually grew through the flesh on my Galaxy coral. Thank goodness I was able to remove it without hurting the coral too much.

They multiply more quickly in nutrient rich water. You can place a dab of superglue over the hole at the top of the shell.

Oddly enough, I'm being told my water is too clean and that is the reason my corals a bleaching. :D

I can't imagine how they would multiply if I had some nitrates and phosphates.
