I have had this elegance coral for 6 years and its never has ever done this. Usually the tentacles and the coral itself are blown up and big. The last 2 Sundays I have feed it silverside's I have never feed the coral before So I am wondering if this is what it looks like after eating.

I feed my small elegance silversides occasionally, it gets kinda puffy with short tentacles for a few days after. Hard to compare with yours being so big. BTW, I'm super jealous of your elegance.

Well after a couple days he went back to normal, dont know why it acted weird. When I bough him in Dec 06' I was told I would only get it to last no longer then 6 months, I took a chance on it, and havent looked back since. Although I thought this past weekend he was a gonner, because I have never seen it do this. I was able to measure his base now with it not puffing up.
You may be giving it too big of a piece of food. I would cut the silverside's in half and try that.

First It looks beautiful. But If you haven't feed it in 6 years why did you decide to feed it now?

To be honest, it would never eat Mysis, krill, etc. so the past few weeks I have brought the IDE up and decided to try silversides. It actually took it, after then acted funny. It's back to normal now and looks as normal as before.

I have slowed greatly on feeding mine. It went from just over baseball size to large cantaloupe size in a few months. I cant have any other corals near it. With mostly frags, I am concerned about how it will be in the future.

Yes they puff out after eating big chunks. Very awesome coral you have there.
