I was having a little bit of ammonia in my quarantine tank. At the LFS I was looking at some zeovit ammonia remover that was safe for fresh or salt. Then I saw the aquaclear cartridge that looked like the same stuff so I bought that for my hob skimmer. Now I noticed on the box that it says freshwater only....
All I've read is that it outcompetes the bacteria. Is it then okay for quarantine use?
Should i take it out?
I'm still trying to find Amquel and doing water changes in the meantime.

for QT with no filter is okay.

you can use amquel, ammo lock, and many other brands,

I think you meant Zeoliths instead of zeovit.

I see ure in ontario too so goto Big al, they have it. pick up some prime too.

I'd remove the freshwater product. It might cause problems, but I don't know what's in it. For the time being, I agree that Prime or Amquel will be fine. For the longer term, a bio-wheel or sponge filter or something similar will work.
