I was listening to a medical presentation on phosphate and how vitamin D plays a important role in the body with building bones with calcium and p04. DO you guys think that vit D has a place in the reef tank?

there is a difference though between vit d in marine species and hominids/fw species its part of the reason feeding fw fish to marine fish causes fatty liver deposits. I believe, without reading, that d3 is the marine species and cholecalciferol is the fw but w have to go re read. my point is the supplements we take wont be the right kind of vit d

Vitamins usually are defined as part of the human diet, and other species can have very different nutritional needs. I haven't done any research on vitamin D in the marine environment. That might make a good study topic, though. :) I wouldn't make any assumptions either way.
