After much research, I think I finally have my equipment list finalized. Now to start ordering if these sound alright.
75 gallon aquarium
DIY 29 gallon sump w/refuge
RO/DI unit
250 watt jager heater
Reef Octopus 110
LED Ecoxotic Panorama fixture (will add on when get into corals more)
Hydor Koralia 750 (x2) (or should I do the 1050s?)
1500gph overflow kit from Glass_holes
Sicce Syncra 3.0 return pump
Refractometer, magfloat, instant ocean reef crystals, 60-70lbs argonite sand, 80lbs dry rock (with some live to seed), Brute trashcan, small powerhead for mixing, API test kits.
That should at least get me started on the right path I hope!!

Looks pretty good to me. I would definitely get the 1050's instead of the 750's they are practically the same price. One thing I would also consider is the length of the 250 watt heater. You may be better off with two heaters a little bit smaller.
Good luck!

A quarantine tank is an absolute must. If you don't quarantine all new fish from day one; you will face a major disaster sooner or later. Search the forum and read various threads on QTs, sad.

just about the same exact setup i have except for the heater and you have a better skimmer. my lights are t5 tho. Works great for me. All my params are perfect never need to dose with the reef crystals. everything is healthy and grows good. I do suggest 2 heaters at least though. That way if one stops working you have a backup.
Quarantine is a good idea. I never have and I did have an ich breakout about a year ago and lost everything. I was going to set up a QT but had no room for it really.( didnt want to have a emtpy tank in my home where it could be seen) Anyways I now have my tank filled with all the fish I want and they are all perfectly healthy.
I got the ich from a powder brown that had a dot or two on it which I didnt really notice till i got home. Then after a heater malfunction a month of two after ich attacked all my fish.
GOOD LUCK

Oops, forgot QT tank as well! Already have an unused 10 gallon with 50 watt heater that will be used for QT tank.

^ agree on both.
a light for the fuge?, also you will like Red Sea test kits better than API.
looks like youve done your homework. good job.

Also just a comment about the DIY 29g sump. If you plan on drilling it, do tempered glass check. I was reading this morning someone popped an Aqueon 29g.
Also look into a solid Auto top off and some dosing pumps if the budget can handle it.

Thanks for the tips!! I don't think I will drill the sump just for that reason.
Will also look into an ATO.
Can't wait to get everything going so I can at least start my cycle!

You could look into seeding your rock now, while you wait to get everything setup. This will insure a successful start, i.e.: no hair algae problem, flatworm, ext. Just need a Tote, heater, powerhead, and a way to change the water each week. It will take about 6 weeks to do it, but this is a right way!
Just look into it.....

I also did a 29 diy sump, if you want the baffle lengths and sizes? we have the same set up but i am running sumpless right now. Waiting for more $ to hook my sump up.
I am running 2 1050 evos alternating and will need more flow I read. Still undecided on overflow box, eshopps 300 or 800?
Want to get the insump reed octupus that is 350 gph, so is the eshopps 800 too much flow?

I would consider adding one more powerhead, but that depends on what kinds of corals you are planning on doing, I am currently deciding on a 40b, 75 or 125, so I would tag along your build. GL!

was thinking of adding just 1 1400 evo running constantly and have the 1050 altèrnating with 800 gph overflow. I am gonna have LpS corals.
How do I put my setup specs on my signature?

You dont have to spend a whole lot on an ato. Some of the more expensive ones have some pretty cool features but you can pick up used JBJ's for 50-60 alot of times and it is also pretty easy to build your own as well. I just built one with a backup emergency float switch and indicator leds for my tank and it was only like $18 plus $16 for an aqua lifter pump.

Would love to know the baffle lengths\sizes since I have to go get some glass of acrylic cut for my sump!
Again, thanks for all the tips and suggestions!

A second brute might help. Or get some smaller 7+/- containers for RODI... It never fails to need some non-SW and have to find something to make it in. I have 2 brutes. One strictly for RODI and one for salt.
Either filling the ATO or adding some because I added too much salt.
Second heater for salt mix before you put it in the tank.
Small power head for mixing.. I would get two cobalt MJ1200 That way you can connect hose to it and pump your brute into tank or a variety of other things. I say two.. You never know when you need one at midnight because one suddenly went into backward mode (broke tab and wont spin correctly) at least the spare will help.
Just my opinion.

I guess I am just going to keep posting after worm
Tonight.
He did remind me about heater. I run to heaters on my tank. On is set just a little low. This is done as safety measure, incase one stops working. It doesn't take long for a tank to drop its temp, and can destroy a tank. For a couple extra bucks, buy another heater!
