Try attaching an air pump to your skimmer air hose. Though I recommend you using a valve in the line to keep the air consistent and in check. I did it on my aquamaxx hob1 skimmer and the bubbles doubled resulting in greater and thicker.
Though this mod may bypass the silencer on the skimmer like what happened to mine, I didnt really care since I care more about the performance rather than the noise. But if the noise ever gets to me, I'll probably upgrade to a silent airpump as I used the only one I found in my basement.
For laughs, when I was connecting the lines, I got curious and used an aircompressor. The bubbles almsot blew the lid out of my collection cup :lolspin:
