I was just wondering how long gfo can sit in lye? I was regenerating some gfo and the maxi jet impeller broke so the gfo has been sitting in a reactor with lye for two weeks. If I flush the reactor with ro/di well it be still ok to use?

If the GFO still has enough structural integrity, it'll be okay. It might fall apart fairly easily at this point. I'm not enough of a chemist to know, and the strength of the solution and the amount per unit volume of GFO might matter a lot.

It might turn to dust but if not the time in lye will just park more oxide on it ;a good thing.

Ok thanks. I'll squeeze a piece between my fingers and see if the granules aren't mushy.
